Our Team
Ian Garbutt
Director/Principal
Ian has a wealth of insurance knowledge gained from his 25 years experience in the Insurance Industry including Claims, Workers Compensation, Pricing, Underwriting and Sales. Ian recently joined Bestmark Insurance Brokers in February 2018, having previously worked for CGU Insurance as the Qld State Manager. Prior to this, Ian was the State Claims Manager for CGU Insurance where he managed CGU’s response to a number of the large Catastrophe events including the Brisbane/Ipswich Floods of 2011, Cyclone Yasi in 2011 and the Bundaberg Floods 2013. Ian is passionate about People and Insurance and is excited to be part of the Bestmark journey.
Ian is a keen Sports enthusiast, and when he’s not following his kids’ sports on a weekend, you can often find him with a form guide in hand.
Keith Nowlan
Director/Principal
Keith is a veteran of the Insurance Industry, and is the founder of Bestmark Insurance Brokers. Keith has over 30 years General Insurance experience, during which time he has amassed a vast knowledge of the range of products available from over 150 Insurers and Underwriters. Keith has a deep understanding of Policy wordings, tailoring insurance solutions for the more complex clients’ needs. Keith has built close relationships with his loyal clients and is proud of the fact that he has been serving some of them for more than 25 years.
Keith is a keen fisherman and devoted Granddad.
Wendy Butler
Broker/Account Executive
Wendy has worked for Bestmark Insurance Brokers since 2000 and manages a large book of clients across a broad spectrum of Trades and Businesses. Wendy has a great deal of experience in all aspects of the General Insurance Industry and prides herself on her outstanding Customer Service and attention to detail.
Wendy is a fitness buff who loves nothing better than an early morning training session at the Gym.
Marj Nowlan
Broker/Account Executive
Marj is the backbone of the office and ensures everything runs like clockwork. Marj has worked alongside Keith since Bestmarks’ inception in 1983 and has built up an incredible knowledge of policy wordings and systems. Marj prides herself on her customer service and providing a truly friendly experience.
Marj is a passionate Grandmother and loves to Travel.
Jenny Jackman
Financial Controller
Jenny has been with Bestmark Insurance for over 10 years and runs the behind the scenes aspect of the business including: invoicing, accounts, processing with Insurers, compliance and financial control. Jenny’s role is instrumental for the office and if you have any queries regarding your account, Jenny is your contact.
Jenny’s passion are her two daughters and supporting any team that is playing against the All Blacks.
